To miss someone.
To regret someone’s
Absence,
Lack of presence.

I look at
The empty seat
Next to me
And I feel
Just as empty
Without you there.

Is this what it means
To miss someone?

To care for someone.
To worry about that person.
To feel an overpowering
Love for someone.
Devotion.

I hear that
Someone has hurt you.
That you are hurt
Or not feeling well.
And that empty feeling
When you are not there
Fills with a sharp pain.

Is this what it means
To love someone?
To worry about someone?

All these emotions
That other people
All know
What do they mean?
What do these feelings
Mean?
These strange aches
Within my body
That you bring out?

He went to slay
The Demon Dark
In the light of day.

          His wife she cried,
          Stayed home to keep
          The farm boys working
          And to weep.

The Hero Bold
He walked for days
Until at last he heard
The Dark Demon’s bays.

          Out of night
          The Dark Demon came;

May be Hurting I may be hurting
But I got me my pride.
Nobody’s ever seen my pain.
No one’s ever heard me cry.

Passing out in bathrooms,
Falling down stairs.
Hearing those hurting words from you;
No one’d think I cared

Crack my head on tile,
Smash my hand with a stone.
The pain goes deep;
No one’ll toss me a bone

I may be hurting
But I got me my pride.
Nobody’s ever seen my pain.
No one’s ever heard me cry.

Just one word
With one line
Might turn me away;
Would keep me from crossin’ that line

Until that time comes
I’ll lie here and cry
Trapped in my pain
While everyday outside,

Memory may fade

Things last forever

As everyone who pays attention to this account knows; it hasn't been updated in a very long time...  That might stay that way for awhile.  I'm taking a creative writing course at college this year and it's quite interesting.  I must say that it has gotten me more focused on my prose work, not to mention that fact that my teacher just has this thing against writing poetry unless it is in form and perfect.  So the point to be made is that most of my thoughts and what little creative talent I have are being put towards prose work and not the random snippets of poetry that I post up here.  If anyone is bored enough or perhaps interested enough I have a fictionpress account where I post all the prose that I've been writing.  Got my notebook back from Pape (my teacher) last week so I can update my new works as well.
